Join us by gifting opportunity
The Akaa Project's mission is to create educational opportunities for families in the Eastern Region of Ghana. We believe that education is a fundamental right and have a vision where all children and families have access to quality education.
The Akaa Project was formed in 2008 as a collaboration between Ghanaians and Americans. Together, they established a school in the Akaa community, where there was no school. The Asiafo Amanfro Community School operates as a full primary school today. In 2016, we grew a partnership with the Ghana Education Service and today the non-profit continues to support educational programming, community teachers and training, and school infrastructure. A small and mighty team of Ghanaians run these operations.
Thank you to the many individuals, organizations, and advocates who have supported us over the years, with special thanks to the Opposite of Loneliness and Acton Congregational Church
