To help galvanize worldwide enthusiasm for goals to better girls’ lives, providing an opportunity for them to show leadership and reach their full potential.

1. Listen to a girl’s story, share it and tell your own story.

2. Discuss the day! Spread the word, have a conversation at work or at school, use your social media channel of choice (we like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)

3. Get Inspired: watch Malala Yousafzai, advocate for girls education, on the Daily Show

4. Make the Girls Declaration #girlsdeclaration

5.  Play Half the Sky’s game! The game begins in character Radhika’s home country of India, and from there you will travel to Kenya, Vietnam, Afghanistan and the United States, eventually becoming a global leader and a role-model for women worldwide. All of the stories are based on TRUE stories from the game’s non-profit partners.

6. Educate yourself. Our favorite girl-resources: Women Deliver, The Girl Effect, International Day of the Girl and Half the Sky

7. Arrange a screening of Girl Rising: Educate Girls and you will Change the World. A powerful, groundbreaking film moving the global campaign to equal opportunity for girls worldwide.

8. Be loud. Every voice matters, every voice makes a difference.
